Honorable Character

Greenville Christian School has adopted the Bethesda Inc. Honorable Character Classroom Management System.  This plan is based on defining honorable character within the student.  All of the character traits are biblically based and come with a verse for reference.   This is another method to teach the students that the Bible has all the answers for life.  This will help them in their daily walk to be more Christ-like.

We have 14 traits (listed below) that I will look for in your child.

These same traits will be used to build character.  If your child is having difficulty, we will use the same traits to learn why we need to be more like Christ.  The character trait will be recorded on a Character Reinforcement Form and sent home to you.  Please review it with your child, discuss the behavior, sign it together, and return it to school the following day.

In the first grade classroom, each student has a “wow cow” on his desk.  If the child has difficulty with one of these traits, the wow cow will be taken up, the number of trait will be recorded and this will be a verbal warning.  The second time, the number will be recorded and the student will sit out 5 minutes of recess.  The third time, the number will be recorded and the student will be sent to Mrs. Traverse, the principal.  You will be notified by email of this action.

The student’s wow cow is worth one sticker at the end of the day.  All students’ whose cows are still in place at the end of the day, will receive a sticker in the EAGLE notebook.  A full sticker chart may be traded in for treasure chest.
